Other Fish Species
This is a three spine stickle back.
There are 3 stickle back species in Native to North America. They are the four spine stickleback, the brook stickleback and the three spine stickleback.
Adults can measure 5 or 6 inches. They prefer weedy flat portions of rivers, streams and still waters. They prefer clear water. The back and upper sides are brown and green with some dusky spots. The sides fade to silvery along the belly. They have bright blue eyes.
They eat fish, eggs, and a variety of crustations. They breed for three months. They have about a three year lifespan.
